Founded in 2006, Dr. Edward K. Mallett's Tuba Bach Music Festival has reached well over 10,000 audience members in more than 40 events in the Big Rapids community, including music lovers not only from the Big Rapids area, but from all over Michigan and even surrounding states. In addition to the many outstanding musicians that have come from across the country and beyond to perform in the Tuba Bach Festival, over 150 area students and community members have participated in the performances as well. The Tuba Bach Festival has also commissioned several new compositions and arrangements — some by composers here in the Big Rapids area. The 2009 Festival will continue to provide many exciting opportunities and experiences for the Big Rapids area and beyond.

Tuba Bach brings the performing arts to our commuity
The Tuba Bach Festival's first and most important goal is to make exceptional performances available to all, with no barriers, which is why there is never an admission charge for any concert during the annual festival season. However, we all know that these concerts are not truly free. It costs money to put on these shows... more than you might expect! If you have the means and believe that performances like these are important to our community, we ask for your donations. Your support is critical to making Tuba Bach a success.
- The Tuba Bach Festival brings world-class musicians to the Big Rapids area for outstanding performance experiences. Your donations help to bring those musicians here.
- The Tuba Bach Festival seeks opportunities to instill an appreciation for the fine arts in our children, as well as for all community members, through school assembly presentations, workshops and clinics. Your contributions help to make those opportunities for our children in particular and our community as a whole available.
- The Tuba Bach Festival brings new and outstanding performers to the area and has them perform side by side with some of the tremendous talents that we have here in our community. Your financial backing makes these opportunities possible.

The Tuba Bach Chamber Music Festival is presented in conjunction with STAGE-M: Society for Theatre Arts Growth and Enjoyment in the Mid-Michigan area. STAGE-M is a 501C(3) tax exempt, nonprofit organization, and all contributions are tax deductible.
